As a designer you design brands, you give them a face so to say. You do this based on the brand identity. From this starting point, you want to use every possible means available at that very moment. In this, I see many innovative design agencies, and at the same time many conservative clients. Which is a shame, as that doesn’t do justice to the brand. For example: you want to animate the logo, but the client doesn’t want that. It is hard for your clients to let go of the behavior they have learned in the mass communication era. However, the world keeps changing rapidly. The question is: how do you persuade your client to move ahead in the new branding?
Would your client have a clear vision of the long term developments of media and brands, decisions maybe could be more innovative. Your client then would have a reason to take the less traveled path. Your client then would realize this is a long term trend instead of some short term hypes you can’t base a strategy on. You would then be able to design brands in a much more innovative way.
I can help you develop or sharpen the long term vision of your clients. By giving a tailored presentation to the brand team, facilitating a workshop, or maybe even a personal session with you and a selected client. From experience I know this way of working can very well liberate clients from their more conservative ideas.
