LinkedIn integrates Amazon booklists
LinkedIn, a business social network, is integrating people's reading lists. For each book you can indicate 'I want to read it', 'I'm reading it now' and 'I want to read it'. You can also indicate whether you're using the Kindle, Amazon's e-paper device.
When you add an Application, you are allowing it to access profile information about you and your connections which the Application uses to provide the service. This and other information you provide to the Application may be displayed publicly depending on the Application’s functionality. Add the Reading List by Amazon application and find out what other people in your industry are reading. It’s simple! Start by adding the books you are planning to read, reading right now and have read already to the list using our simple search tool. You could then discover a world of books that your peers in your current industry and in your network are reading. You can also follow specific like-minded people and share your love of books with each other.

In a next step you’ll connect your Amazon account to the LinkedIn account. Then the books you’ve purchased will appear automatically. When you indicate that you’ve read it, Amazon will ask for your review, which will then appear on Amazon.com and, more importantly, will be shown prominently to your business partners. This allows LinkedIn to help you more with books that help develop your career. This is a step in that direction.
